A hype man gets the crowd loud for one night. A leader gets them ready for the next forty.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Excitement is a spike and preparation is a slope. Both feel like leadership in the moment, but only one of them changes what happens in week six, when nobody is cheering and the work is dull. The people who last are usually building arrangements while somebody else is building noise.
Ask what you are doing this week that will still be paying off two months from now. If the honest answer is nothing, swap one motivating gesture for one practical arrangement. Enthusiasm is easier to raise later when the structure is already there.
Are you preparing people or just exciting them?
