STILLNESS
Speed of acquisition and depth of possession are separate measurements, and only one of them lasts. A week is not a worse result than a day if you both end up holding the same thing. Comparison turns a private process into a race nobody is actually running, and the race is the part that makes people quit.
Measure against your own last month instead of the person beside you. Write down what you could not do in September and look at it again in December. The honest question is whether you understand it now, not how long the understanding took.
Whose speed are you measuring yourself against right now?
