The best players still run the same basic drills they ran at nine. Fundamentals never get old, only neglected.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Fundamentals do not stop mattering once you can do harder things. They become the thing everything harder is standing on, and they decay quietly, since nobody notices a slightly worse basic movement until the advanced version starts failing for reasons that seem unrelated. Elite performers keep drilling them because they know exactly where the collapse comes from.

Pick the most basic element of whatever you do and give it real attention this week, not as a warm-up but as the session. Do it slowly enough to notice quality. Boredom there usually means you stopped paying attention, not that you are finished.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which basic have you stopped practicing because it feels beneath you?
