You don’t need a million followers to have influence. You need one person who trusts you.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Reach and influence are frequently confused, and only one of them causes anything to happen. A large number of people who half-recognize you will change nothing; one person who believes what you say will act on it, tell others, and come back. Influence is a function of how much trust you hold rather than how many people you reach.

Pick one person you can actually be useful to and be reliably useful to them. Answer properly, follow through, tell the truth when it is inconvenient. That relationship will do more than a year of trying to be seen by everybody.
