Judgment is deciding which uncertainty you can responsibly tolerate.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Every choice leaves something unknown, and you cannot eliminate all of it. What you can do is choose which unknowns to carry. Some uncertainty is cheap to hold: if you are wrong, you adjust. Some is not: if you are wrong, someone gets hurt or something cannot be undone. Deciding well means putting your remaining ignorance in the places where being wrong is survivable.
Before a decision, list what you still do not know and mark each one by what happens if it goes badly. Spend your remaining effort on the ones with heavy consequences and consciously accept the rest. Saying I am choosing to live with not knowing this is a real act, and it is different from not having noticed.
Which unknown could you live with while you move ahead anyway?
