Muscles grow on the rest day, not during the lift. Your mind keeps the same schedule.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Work makes the demand and rest supplies the answer, which is why training with no recovery leaves you tired instead of strong. The same pattern runs through thinking, practicing and learning anything difficult. The gap after effort is not an interruption of the work; it is the half where the change actually gets made.

Build rest into the plan rather than treating it as what happens when you fail. Sleep counts as part of the training. When a day off brings guilt with it, remember you are not skipping the process, you are doing its other half.
