Being the only person taking a particular route feels like evidence against the route, since numbers pass for confirmation and everyone around you is a living argument for the other way. Consensus is worth taking seriously and it is not proof. Sometimes you are early, and sometimes your circumstances differ from theirs in ways that make a different answer correct. Isolation is a cost rather than a verdict.

Find one person outside your immediate circle who has done what you are attempting. You need evidence it is possible more than you need agreement at home.
