Some things you keep by holding on. Some things you keep only by letting them go.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

There are two kinds of keeping, and applying the wrong one is how people lose what they care about. A habit, a commitment, a standard survives because you hold it. A person or a friendship survives because you stop gripping and let it exist on its own terms. Grip works on things and rarely on people.

Look at what you are currently holding tightly and ask which category it belongs to. If it is a person, loosen one specific thing this week, a check-in, a rule, an expectation. Keeping someone in your life mostly means making it easy for them to stay.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you gripping that would stay if you loosened?
