A lonely season is a season. It has an end date, even if nobody printed it on the calendar.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being alone for a stretch is a condition, not a character flaw and not a permanent arrangement. The hardest part is that no end date is visible, so it presents itself as the way things are now rather than as a period you are inside. Nothing about it is deserved and nothing about it is proof of anything.

While you are in it, keep the ordinary structure going: sleep, food, somewhere to be each week, some form of other people even at low volume. You are not required to fix this by force of personality. Seasons turn through repetition and time.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Can you treat this lonely stretch as temporary?
