An all-nighter doesn’t give you extra time. It borrows it from tomorrow at a terrible rate.

REFLECTION
Sleep taken from one night comes out of the next day’s capacity at a rate far worse than one to one. You get hours that are barely usable and then a following day that is slower, more error prone and harder to enjoy. It feels like finding extra time because the cost arrives after the deadline.
Where you can, finish worse rather than later. Hand in the imperfect version and sleep. Where you genuinely cannot, plan the recovery in advance. And if it is happening often, that is a scheduling problem rather than an effort problem.
What did your last all-nighter actually cost the next day?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
