Forgiveness isn’t a switch you flip. It’s more like a dimmer you turn a little every week.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Letting go of something is gradual, and expecting it to be a single decision is what makes people feel they have failed at it. You can mean it sincerely on Monday and be angry again on Thursday, which is not hypocrisy but simply how a large feeling drains, unevenly and over a long time. Nothing about it requires you to be finished.

Aim to be slightly less bound to it than last month rather than free of it. Notice when the charge drops, and try not to reopen the case when it rises. Some of this takes years, and that is allowed.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who are you slowly forgiving without having finished yet?
