A great deal of life is not allocated by anybody choosing you. Spaces get filled by people who turned up, asked, or simply started, and waiting for an invitation that was never going to be issued can cost years while looking like patience. In most cases nobody is withholding the invitation, because nobody is sending any.

Pick one thing you have been waiting to be included in and take a small unauthorised step toward it. Ask directly, or begin the work alone and let it be seen. Waiting is the right move only when somebody is actually deciding.
