Maturity changes what impresses you.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Early on, the impressive things are visible: talent, speed, confidence, the ability to be interesting in a room. Later the list quietly changes. What stands out becomes reliability, someone who is the same in private as in public, a person who can say they were wrong, steadiness maintained over years without an audience. It is not that your taste improved so much as you learned which qualities hold up under weight.

Notice who you actually admire now and what they have in common. Then ask whether you are building those things or still performing the ones that impressed you at twenty. The two lists diverge more than most people expect.
