Stand at the ocean and yell your problem at it. The waves won’t even flinch, and somehow that helps.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Scale is a real comfort and a strange one. Something the size of an ocean does not care about your problem, and instead of feeling cruel that usually feels like relief, because the thing you have been carrying gets returned to its actual proportions. You are not being dismissed. You are being measured against something honest.

Find your version of it this week: water, a hill, a wide sky, a building far older than you. Go without company and without documenting it. Say the problem out loud if you want, and notice what size it is on the way home.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which problem would shrink if you stood somewhere enormous?
