You don’t need a room full of people to understand you. You need to understand yourself.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Being understood by others is pleasant and it is not the foundation it appears to be. If the sense of who you are depends on other people getting it, then every new room puts the question back up for a vote. The steadier version comes from your own account of yourself, which nobody has to ratify.
Notice how much energy goes into being read correctly. Try letting one misunderstanding stand this week without correcting it. Spend that energy instead on getting clearer with yourself about the thing, since that is the part that actually holds.
Whose understanding are you waiting for before feeling settled?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
