Standing alone on the right side of something feels awful in the moment and excellent for the rest of your life.

REFLECTION
Being the only one holding a position is genuinely unpleasant in the moment, and no amount of being right removes that. What changes is the timescale. The discomfort is measured in hours and the memory of having done it stays for years, quietly informing what you believe you are capable of the next time something similar arrives.
If you find yourself alone on something, check your reasoning once more and then hold it without arguing constantly. You do not need to convince the room. Standing there calmly is the whole action, and it tends to be remembered long after the subject is forgotten.
When did doing the right thing cost you the room’s approval?
