A messy room isn’t a moral failure, but it might be a message. Ask what it’s trying to tell you.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A room that has gone to pieces is rarely about laziness. More often it is a readout of something else: a stretch where there was no capacity left over, a week that took more than it gave, a period of avoiding the place entirely. The state of the room is a symptom and not the disease.
Before you discipline yourself about it, ask what was going on while it happened. Then start with one surface rather than the whole room. Both things matter, and the question is the part usually skipped.
What has your room been telling you that you keep ignoring?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
