Scroll back to your texts from three years ago. If they don’t make you wince a little, check whether you’ve grown.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Old messages are one of the few unedited records of who you used to be. They were written quickly, without any thought of being reviewed, which makes them far more accurate than memory. Reading them back with mild discomfort means your judgement has moved since, and you can only measure that against something fixed.
Scroll back a few years and read for the pattern rather than the individual embarrassment. Notice what you cared about, how you spoke, what you were anxious about. If nothing has shifted at all, that is worth sitting with gently rather than harshly.
Which habit from your old messages have you since dropped?
