Knowing what helps you makes it easier for people to love well. Nobody hits a target that was never described.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
People who care about you are mostly guessing. They try what worked for them, or what they have seen elsewhere, and when it misses you conclude they do not understand while they conclude they cannot help. The missing piece is often just a description, since nobody can provide something that has never been named.
Work out what actually helps you when things are hard. Being left alone, being asked directly, practical assistance, company without conversation. Then tell one person in plain words, so their care has somewhere to land.
What kind of help do people never think to offer you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
