Depending on a single source for anything important means one change can take the whole structure down. It is not that the one thing is weak, it is that nothing else is holding the weight when it moves. People rarely notice until the block is already gone.

Look at where your life currently has exactly one of something that matters. Add a second, even a small one: another skill, a few more hours of income, one friendship outside the main group. You are not replacing what you have, only giving it company.
