When you need it too badly, it shows in your texts, your posture, and your price. Need it a little less.

Urgency is visible from a distance. Needing something badly changes your timing, your wording and your willingness to hold a position, and the other person reads all of it without having to think about it. The need itself is fine, and what costs you is having only one option.
Where you can, build a second possibility before you go into the conversation, even a weak one. Then slow your replies slightly and stop explaining why you need it. Wanting something and being able to walk away are not opposites, and holding both changes the terms.
Where does your wanting show before you say a word?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
