Plot twists can happen at any age. People change careers at 40 and find love at 70.

The idea that all the important turns happen early is a story people tell, not a rule. Direction can change at any point, and it usually changes because of something small that happened rather than because a window opened on schedule. Being past a particular age does not close the account.

If you are young, that takes some pressure off deciding everything now. If you are not, it removes the excuse that turning points happen to other people. Either way the useful move is beginning the small thing rather than waiting for the right stage of life.
