The size of a part is not the same as its effect. Plenty of people who shaped you were only around briefly, and the brevity did not weaken what they did, it meant everything landed inside a short window. Being minor in somebody’s story is an ordinary position rather than a demotion.

When you are only going to be there a short time, be fully there for it. Say the useful thing to the person you will not see again. Brief encounters are often where the honest advice and the unexpected kindness actually happen.
