Home isn’t an address. It’s whoever still leaves the porch light on for you.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Belonging is not geography. What makes somewhere home is the person in it who keeps expecting you, who needs no reason for the visit, who notices when you are late. That might be a parent, a grandparent, an old friend, a coach. Addresses change constantly and that kind of attention is much rarer.
Name whoever keeps the light on for you and tell them, even if it comes out awkward. Go there sometimes when you do not need anything. If nobody comes to mind yet, try being that person for someone else and see what comes back.
Where do you feel expected and welcome without arranging it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
