Universal approval requires editing. Everyone wants something slightly different from you, so satisfying all of them means giving each one a version, and the versions cannot all be true at once. The first casualty is usually your own preference, quietly dropped to keep things smooth. You end up dependable to everyone and honest with nobody.
Pick one situation where you have been agreeing without meaning it and say the real thing once. Accept that somebody will be disappointed, since that is the actual price. You will be easier to trust afterwards, including by yourself.
Whose approval have you bought with a small untruth?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
