Half the “yep, got it” in any meeting is people too proud to say “wait, what?”
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Confusion is widespread and almost never admitted. In most rooms a good share of the agreement is polite noise from people who did not follow and would rather not be the one to say so, which means everyone leaves with a slightly different version of the plan. The cost arrives later as work done in the wrong direction. One question at the time would have prevented it.
Be the person who asks for that part to be said again. Several people in the room will visibly relax when you do. Assume that if you are lost, at least two others are too.
When did you nod along without understanding a thing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
