Googling until you find someone who agrees with you isn’t research. It’s shopping.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Search returns whatever shape you hand it, so a conclusion decided in advance will always find support. The feeling is identical to research from the inside, which is what makes it hard to catch: you read, you gather, you finish more confident. The only difference is that the answer was set before the looking started.
Run the opposite search next time, in the words someone who disagrees would use. Read the best thing you find there all the way through. If your view survives that, it has earned something. If it does not, you saved yourself an argument you would have lost slowly.
What have you searched until the internet finally agreed?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
