Owning your mistakes is how you earn your own respect back. Nobody can gift you that.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Reassurance from other people is pleasant and it does not transfer. Your own view of yourself runs on evidence you produced, which is why being told you are fine after something you regret never quite settles it. The settling comes from repair, because that is the only thing that changes the record.

Pick one thing you have been carrying and put some part of it right this week. Make the call, return the money, say the sentence you did not say. Do it for the record rather than the reaction, and notice that it holds even if the other person shrugs.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would you need to own to respect yourself again?
