Admit you’re jealous, even just to yourself. Named envy loses half its grip.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Envy that goes unnamed does not disappear, it comes out sideways, usually as criticism of the person or a sudden discovery that the thing was never worth having. Said plainly, even silently, it stops needing a disguise. It also turns useful, because it points reliably at something you want and have not admitted to wanting.
Next time it shows up, name it in one sentence and then ask what specifically you envy. Rarely the whole life. Usually one piece, and that piece is often more available to you than the feeling suggests.
Whose success are you quietly envious of right now?
