Rest is not quitting. It’s the part of training where your body actually rebuilds.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Training does not make you stronger while you are doing it. It makes you weaker, and the gain arrives afterwards, during the part that looks like nothing is happening. Skipping that phase does not add work, it cancels work you have already paid for. The urge to keep going is really the urge to interrupt the only stage where improvement occurs.
Put one full rest day in the week ahead and write it down the way you would a session. Sleep counts as part of it. If taking it makes you anxious, treat the anxiety as the thing to sit with rather than the day to cancel.
What rest have you been treating as laziness?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
