Rodeo athletes keep competing with bruises the crowd never sees. Most people around you are doing the same.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

What is visible from the stands is the performance, not the condition of the person giving it. Everybody is carrying something that does not show: an injury, a bad week, something at home, a worry they have told nobody. That is not a reason to excuse poor behaviour, but it is a reason to assume you are not the only one managing something invisible. The crowd never sees any of it.

Assume the next person who is short with you is dealing with something you cannot see, and act on that for a week. It is also worth remembering when you catch yourself thinking everyone else finds this easier.
