Pressure from people who love you still counts as pressure. You’re allowed to name it.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Kindness behind a demand does not reduce the weight of it. Expectations from people who want the best for you can be heavier than hostile ones, because there is never a good moment to object and objecting feels ungrateful. The pressure is real, it takes something out of you, and naming it is not an accusation.
Say the plain version out loud to someone, even if only to a friend: this is a lot, and the people pushing are on my side. If you can, say a gentler version to them as well, without a list of complaints attached. You are allowed to ask for a quieter week.
Whose love for you arrives as pressure you never name?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
