Learning a new language means sounding dumb out loud for months. That’s not a phase to skip, it’s the route.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Learning anything out loud means being worse at it in public than you are in your head. With a language there is no way around that, because a mouth and an ear only get trained by being used badly in front of people. The embarrassment is not a sign you chose the wrong method. It is the method.
Find somewhere low-stakes to be bad on purpose, a few times a week rather than occasionally. Say the sentence even when the grammar is wrong, and let people correct you without apologising first. Count the months instead of the days, because months are the timescale an ear works on.
Where are you unwilling to sound foolish out loud?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
