Plenty of falls off a horse hurt your pride more than your body. Pride takes longer to heal, so give it time too.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Pride bruises more easily than a body does and it mends more slowly, which is odd given that nobody can see it. After a fall in front of people, what keeps you off is usually the memory of how it looked rather than anything physical. Treating that as real is the only way to treat it at all.

Give the embarrassment the few days you would give a sore shoulder, without expecting it gone by tomorrow. Go back and do the easy version before you feel completely ready. Telling one person that it rattled you generally takes most of the weight out of it.
