Being humbled is uncomfortable. Being humbled early is a gift people pay a lot for later.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Being humbled costs something now and saves a great deal later. Finding out early that you are not as good as you thought gives you years to work with the information, while finding out at thirty means rebuilding something you had already built a life on. The discomfort is real, and the timing is genuinely lucky.
If something recently put you back in your place, write down the honest version of what it showed you. Pick the part you can still change, which at your age is most of it. Then be slightly suspicious of anything you are currently certain you are best at.
When were you humbled early enough to benefit?
