Being patient with your body after an injury is a skill you’ll use with people later.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Patience learned on your own body transfers. A long recovery teaches you that something can be doing fine and still be slow, that pushing does not always help, and that progress is often invisible from one day to the next. Those are exactly the things worth knowing about people, including anyone you end up responsible for.
Notice how you currently talk to yourself about being slow, because that is usually how you talk to other people about it too. Pick someone who is behind on something and give them the patience you are having to learn. Ask what they need rather than when they will be ready.
Where could the patience you learned while healing help someone now?
