Moving to a new town means losing your shortcuts. Every place has to be learned the slow way once.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Competence is partly local. Knowing which bus is quicker, where to get food late, which street to avoid at night: all of that took years and none of it travels. Losing it does not mean losing anything about yourself, though it feels that way for a while, because your capability is temporarily sitting in a place you no longer live.

Accept that the first months will involve being slower at everything, and plan extra time instead of being annoyed. Deliberately learn three practical things a week: a route, a shop, a name. You built the last set from nothing once, which is good evidence you can do it again.
