Breaking down once doesn’t erase the hundred days you held it together.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
One bad day does not undo a long stretch of holding things together, though it will feel as if it does, because the collapse is vivid and the hundred ordinary days left no impression. What happened is that something built up and eventually came out, which is what happens to anybody carrying a load for long enough. The record still stands.
If you fell apart recently, count back over how long you had been managing beforehand. Treat it as information about the weight rather than about your character. Then take one thing off the pile, because the useful response is less load rather than more resolve.
Which hundred quiet days do you forget when one bad one lands?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
