The exercises that fix you after an injury are boring on purpose. Boring is what rebuilding looks like.

RESILIENCE
Dull exercises are dull by design. They are small and precise because they aim at one specific weak thing, and anything more interesting would bring in the parts of you that already work and hide the problem. The boredom is a sign the exercise is pointed correctly, which is an annoying thing to be told.
Do the unglamorous version exactly as prescribed instead of adding weight to make it feel like training. Count the sessions rather than grading each one by how hard it felt. If you genuinely cannot tell whether it is working, ask for a test you can repeat in a month.
Which boring repetition are you skipping because it feels too small?
