The kid who keeps showing up to practice after their parents’ divorce is doing something harder than the drills.

RESILIENCE
Turning up to practice while home is coming apart takes more than the practice does. The drills are the easy part. The hard part is arriving at all, carrying something nobody there knows about, and holding a normal face for two hours. That effort is invisible and often the hardest thing anybody there did that day.
If this is you, the turning up counts, and you need not perform being fine on top of it. Telling one person at the club, even briefly, often makes the two hours lighter. If it is somebody else, be ordinary with them rather than careful, because ordinary is often what they came for.
What did you keep showing up to while home was hard?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
