Every belt in the dojo was earned by someone who kept coming back after getting smashed.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Everybody ahead of you got there by being beaten repeatedly and returning anyway. That is not an inspiring framing, it is just the mechanism, and it means the gap between you and them is attendance over time rather than something you were born without. The ones who look naturally good also spent a year being thrown around.
When you leave a session feeling outclassed, make the next one non-negotiable. Pick one small thing from the beating to work on, so the session had a point. Count the weeks you keep turning up, because that is the number actually doing the work.
What did you come back to after being thoroughly beaten?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
