Strong people still have nights they can’t sleep. Strength is what you do in the morning.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

What happens at three in the morning is largely not yours to control: the worry arrives, the mind runs, the body refuses to settle. Nobody is strong in that hour, and nobody weak in it. The part that belongs to you comes later, when the alarm goes and you decide what the night costs the day.

On a morning after a bad night, lower the bar rather than skipping the day: the first class, one task, one meal, then look again. If the nights keep stacking up, tell someone who can help you work out why. Sleep that does not come back on its own is worth real attention.
