Learning a new hallway map feels huge on Monday and invisible by Friday. Most hard things shrink like that.

RESILIENCE
The difficulty of a new place is mostly the cost of having no map, and maps get built fast. By the end of a week your feet know the route and the question has left your mind entirely. Nearly everything unfamiliar follows that curve: steep, brief, then flat. The feeling at the start is not a forecast of the whole thing.
When something new feels overwhelming, give it five days before you decide anything about it. Write down on the first day what specifically is hard, and read it back on Friday. Doing that once shows you how much of the panic was only unfamiliarity.
