Your body remembers the injury. Your confidence has to be retrained right alongside the muscle.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Tissue healing and trust healing run on separate clocks. A scan can be clear while your body still flinches at the movement that hurt you, because the nervous system filed that movement as dangerous and has not been told otherwise. The hesitation is real and it is not weakness. It gets unlearned the way the strength was rebuilt, gradually and on purpose.
Take the movement you are nervous about and do it at a load so light that it is obviously safe, then add slowly over weeks. Count the uneventful repetitions, since that is the evidence your body is waiting for. Mention the fear to whoever is treating you.
What would deliberately rebuilding your confidence actually look like this week?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
