Ambition is fine. Entitlement is just ambition that skipped the work.

Wanting a great deal is not a character problem, and the difference between the two words is entirely about what comes next. One treats the gap between where you are and what you want as a list of work. The other treats it as an injustice. The feeling at the start is identical, which is why it is worth checking which one you are running.

Take something you believe you deserve and write down what you have actually done towards it. If the list is thin, that is the week’s instruction rather than an indictment. When you miss out, ask what the person who got it did.
