You may have to become unfamiliar to people who benefited from your predictability.

Other people build their arrangements around your predictability: what you will agree to, what you will absorb, how you will react. When you change, those arrangements stop working, and some of the reaction you get is about the disruption rather than about you. That does not make them villains, and it does mean their discomfort is not a reliable guide. Being harder to predict is often the cost of becoming different.
Expect some friction and try not to read it as evidence that you are wrong. Explain once where it matters, then continue. The relationships that can accommodate the new version will do so, given time.
