Some failures are statistical tuition, not personal condemnation.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some losses are the price of participating, not evidence of a flaw in you. If you make enough attempts in an uncertain field, a share of them will fail regardless of how well you prepared, and that share is the cost of being in the game at all. Reading each one as a personal verdict makes the cost far heavier than it needs to be.

After a failure, ask what you would tell someone else who had made the same attempt. Take from it whatever is actually instructive, and let the rest be tuition already paid.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which failure have you taken far more personally than it deserved?
