Teach someone what you know and your skill gets a second life.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Knowledge sitting in one head has a short shelf life. Explaining it to somebody forces you to find the parts you only half understand, which is why teaching sharpens the teacher more than the student. It also means your skill keeps working in rooms you are not standing in. You lose nothing by handing it over and you understand it better afterwards.

Teach one thing you can do to one person this week. Ten minutes, a phone video, a page of notes for whoever comes after you. Notice which step you struggle to explain, because that is the step you did not really know.
