Legacy is a long word for “what did you make easier for the next person?”
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
The grand version of legacy stops most people thinking about it at all, since it sounds like something for statues and buildings. The working version is far more ordinary: whether the people who come after you have an easier time because of something you did. A better process, a cleared path, a piece of knowledge written down. That is available to anybody at any age.
Look at whatever you are part of and find one thing that is needlessly hard for newcomers. Fix it, write it down, or explain it to the next person who arrives. Nobody appoints you to this.
Who came after you somewhere and had an easier time because of you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
