Some bakeries have kept the same sourdough starter alive for decades. Build something worth handing on.

LEADERSHIP
Some things are kept alive rather than finished. A starter exists because somebody fed it on an ordinary morning, and then somebody else did, for years, with no one able to claim they made it. That is a different kind of making from building something and signing it. It asks for maintenance and a successor instead of a finale.
Look at whatever you are part of that will outlast your time in it: a team, a club, a family recipe. Do one thing to make it easier for whoever comes next. Write down how it works, because that is usually the part that gets lost.
What are you tending that someone could keep alive after you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
